Ara Babloyan Receives Parliamentary Delegation of Republic of Poland

On March 19, the RA NA President Ara Babloyan received the delegation of the Foreign and European Union Affairs Committee of the Senate of the Republic of Poland.

Welcoming the Polish parliamentarians in the RA National Assembly, Ara Babloyan highlighted the holding of the first joint sitting of the Committees on Foreign Relations and Affairs of the two parliaments during which numerous key issues were discussed.

In the RA NA President’s word, the agenda of the Armenian-Polish inter-parliamentary relations become more encompassing year by year. He expressed hope that the Polish parliamentarians’ visit would promote the rapprochement of the relations.

Ara Babloyan has highly assessed the unanimous adoption of the Resolution by the Senate of the Republic of Poland which relates to the 650th anniversary of the special privileges given to the Armenians by the King of Poland Cazimir III the Great.

The RA NA President highlighted the necessity of the development of cooperation between the delegations of the two countries within the frameworks of the international Parliamentary Assemblies, as well as the rapprochement of the relations of the Parliamentary Friendship Groups.

The Head of the parliament evaluated the restoration of the Armenian Church of Lvov by the Government of Poland.

Thanking for the reception, the Chairman of the Foreign and European Union Affairs Committee of the Senate of the Republic of Poland Marek Rocki assessed the visit of the delegation effective, noting that the joint sitting of the two Committees had rich agenda, and the perspectives of the exchange of further experience were discussed.

Marek Rocki emphasized the cooperation between Poland and Armenia within the EU framework and presented to Ara Babloyan the path of his country for joining the EU.

He has noted that they highlight the presence of the Armenians in his country, they don’t imagine Poland without Armenians, and they are glad about the signed Agreement with the EU. In Marek Rocki’s word, Poland is ready to promote the acceleration of the Agreement ratification process.
